All you gotta do is smile that smile
and there go all my defenses. Just leave it up to you
and in a little while you're messin' up my mind
and fillin' up my senses
[/color]The computer shut down as she pushed out her chair and stood up. Cody, who she had just seen a few hours before, had asked her to meet him at the lake. Something about needing to clear his mind and of course Danielle agreed. One; it gave her a reason to leave the house and two; she was going to see Cody. True she spent a lot of time with him; probably more then she should. The dark haired girl told herself she wasn’t getting attached to him but truth be told, she was. Taylor had warned before she met him and continued to warn her that he only like to hook up and he didn’t like to be tied down. Dani would have to learn to live with that. Besides, she wasn’t about to tell Cody how she felt even if she was sure about how she felt.
Danielle ran a hand through her hair and realized she was still in her pajamas. Normally she would have jeans and tank top on by this time of the day because of morning chores, but this morning she had done chores in her pajamas. She went to her closet of the small building she converted into her bedroom. After exchanging her pajamas for a pair of jeans and a gray tank top, Dani packed a small bag with jeans, her swim suit and towel. She had no idea if they were actually going to swim, but it would be nice to have something to change into if Cody decided to push her in the lake. And with that thought in her mind she put flip flops on instead of boots.
The engine of the white truck she had recently bought rumbled on the drive to the lake. She was tired of driving her father’s old blue one, so Dani bought a new one. It wasn’t long before she was pulling into the parking area of the lake. After cutting the engine the dark haired girl looked out at the lake. It was her favorite place in Navasota; it always had been since she was little. No place in New York could compare. Danielle climbed out the truck and left the bag with her swim suit on the passenger seat. She shut the door and saw Cody waiting by his truck parked a few spaces away. Instantly a smile came to her lips; something she couldn’t help. The slender girl walked over to him. “Hey Cody,” she greeted him as she stopped, standing a few feet from him.
