Appearance and picture:
Spencer's height is probably the most notable thing about his appearance. He is tall; six feet, and very thin. His hair is very dark brown, nearly black and his bangs always hang in front of his slightly dysfunctional right eye, this being the result of a childhood accident (one which involved his sister poking him in the eye with a marshmallow stick). His eyes are dark green, and he wears glasses, strong prescription on one side, plain glass on the other.He hates his classes and rarely wears them, which is the reason for his clumsiness. Beneath his eyes are dark circles from lack of sleep. It's not insomnia, Spencer just forgets to go to sleep a lot, or his restlessness doesn't allow him to.
Spencer can be described as an open book.His emotions displayed clearly on his face. This never bothers him except when he tries to lie. Perhaps it's a good thing, but whenever Spencer tries to lie his ears turn a bright red.
While very tall and lean, Spencer isn't very muscular. This is probably due to the fact that he was never very apt at sports. Instead he'd stand on the sidelines cheering everyone else on.

Personality:
Spencer is a pretty simple guy- all he wants it to enjoy life, and for the people around him to enjoy life just the same. He is always trying to settle arguments or fights, be a gentleman, polite, relaxed and happy in general. Spence's the kind to never forget his manners, and is rarely in a bad mood.
Spence has symptoms of ADD, but doesn't really have it. He often has trouble concentrating on things that don't interst him, such as schoolwork. He forget many things- homework, chores, tests, classes, and locations, times, birthdays, names- whatever. It frustrates him a lot on occasion. He makes careless mistakes and glosses over details often, and sometimes finds it difficult to focus on what people say. He zones out a lot, sometimes in the middle of his or other's sentences, and he's very impulsive, thinking without acting. Again, it's not a very serious case, so although he has all these symptoms, they're not extremely noticeable. The most obnoxious part of ADD is the restlessness, especially at night. This keeps him from sleeping quite often.
Spence is a very private person. He doesn't talk much about his family or himself, simply because it doesn't interest him, and he doesn't see why it would interest anybody else. If what he has to say might upset someone, he simply doesn't say it. If what he thinks might upset someone, he simply lies. This is why he tries to keep his hair long, to hide is tell-tale ears. Spence doesn't like to see people upset, and definately if it's his fault.
Spence is a very loud person, always happy to tell you what he thinks (as long as it doesn't hurts a persons feelings).

History:
Cole Matthews grew up Navasota, he lived and loved the town. Andrea Williams gew up with the hussle and bussle of New York City. They were completley different people, with completely different dreams. Until Cole followed his little sister to NYC, to make sure she settled in. It was there that he met little Andrea, then sixteen, doing everything her parents wanted of her. Cole only stayed for a week, but during the week he'd managed to fall for Andrea. He made half a dozen more trips to NYC during the next year, and each trip he spent more and more time with Andrea. Soon enough Andrea was pregnant. Her parents, of course, freaked out. They were never very found of Cole. In the end Cole stayed in New York with Andrea and his unborn child. Andrea had a normal pregnancy, with no complications.
Spencer Nathaniel Matthews was born early in the morning on October 29. The small family started out quite happy, Cole ached for home. Andrea refused to leave New York, telling Cole he had a choice; stay here or go home without her. This started quite a few arguments between the young couple, and soon Cole was grabbing more and more beers after work with the guys. This didn't upset Andrea, it was the only time the two agreed on anything. In the end Cole's drinking brought along another pregnancy. This time no one was very happy. But, the two were determined to stick out the pregnancy and then, they decided, Cole could go home. Andrea gave birth to a girl, a healthy mass of blonde hair. They named her Dakota.
Spencer and Dakota grew up in New York, flying to Texas every summer and assorted holidays. Spencer never liked the trips to Texas very much, he was more fond of the city. On the other hand, his sister adored Texas.
When Spencer was sixteen, his mother married. Because, neither child was particulary fond of the new husband they asked to move in with their father. They've been living with him for the last two years.
