Justin Gyspy Cowboy boots carried the small brunette girl through the doors of the honkytonk. This girl happened to be Raleigh Barrett. As per usual, she looked effortlessly beaufitul, and turned heads as she walked in. The problem with Raleigh is that she doesn't realize she's just flipping gorgeous. Raleigh walked over to the counter, and plopped down on a barstool. She showed her ID to the bartender. Hey Roy, I'll take a Bud. Raleigh had been in here so many time before, that the bartender knew exactly what she wanted. She took a long drink of the beer as soons as he had opened it and handed it to her. Raleigh saw a guy down at the end of the bar, with his cowboy hat low, and sipping on a bud light, much like herself. She wasn't feeling to up on her game tonight, but any other night she would have sat by him and asked him to dance. He looked familar, she thought maybe she had seen him somewhere before. At the western wear store in town maybe? who knowsm but he sure was cute.

• • It wasn't an unusual sight to see Cody Jones in one of the bars on friday nights, or any night for that matter. He usually came with a few of the guys before they would split off and find some girls of their own. Tonight though, Cody had decided to come in by himself. He wasn't particullary looking for a girl to take home tonight, although it definitely would be a bonus.. he was just getting a beer or two. As he took a sip of his beer, he looked down the bar, noticing a girl glancing at him. He smirked and looked back ahead of him again. That wasn't unusual either, to see a girl looking at him.. it happened pretty often, only making his ego bigger than it already was. He took a minute, finishing off his beer before standing up and walking down to pull up a stool beside her. "I saw you glancing down at me," He paused for a moment as he looked at the brunnette girl sitting beside him, "Did you like what you see?" He waved for the bartender to give him another beer, once he had it, he popped the top and took a drink as he waited for the girls response. Normally, many girls got annoyed with his cocky personality, but that was part of the reason he let that part show so much. He liked to get a rise out of them.. and usually, he found it only made them want him more.. in some cases.

Raleigh took another sip of her beer as she saw the guy out of the corner of her eye get up, and walk towards her. She hadn't really come here looking for anyone, which wasn't the usual. Normally, Raleigh came here with about two or three of her friends, and danced with double that amount of guys. But she just wasn't really into partying tonight. She really had just come up here to have a beer after a hard days work on the ranch, and then go home, and go to bed, before she had to get up and do it all over again. Raleigh's took a sip of her beer as the guy pulled up a barstool next to her and sat down. Her eyebrows raised as he made a remark about her liking what she saw. "Cocky Much?" Raleigh said, as she finished off her beer and gestured for another. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." Raleigh thought that this guy's comment was kind of rude, but thought she should take if with a grain of salt. He was probably drunk, but she was used to getting harrassed by the various guys that came in here. You just dance or talk with them, and then they eventually go away. But something told Raleigh that this one was going to stick around a little longer than the rest would.

• • Cody took a long sip of his beer and placed it back down in front of him as the girl spoke again. A smirk appeared on his face when she spoke, "Very, actually. He took a pause and another drink of his beer before opening his mouth to speak again, "But I'm sure you like it." He shrugged his shoulders, the smirk never leaving his face. He knew he was cocky, even without getting told. Honestly though, he didn't much care what this girl thought of him. Either she'd stick around or she'd leave.. either way, he'd still be able to find another girl somewhere in this bar.. it was never hard for him to draw them in. The next words to pass through the brunnette girls mouth only caused him to laugh and keep the same smug smirk plastered on his features. "Nah.. I know you did." He looked over at the girl once again, waiting for her response. He knew he could be a cocky jerk, but she looked like the kind of girl who would throw it right back in his face.

Raleigh shook her head and rolled her eyes as she finished off her beer. She gestured to the bartender for another, as she listened to this jerk try to tell her that he knew what she was thinking. Raleigh was starting to get kind of irritated with this guy, and she figured that is was starting to show because that nauseating smirk never left his face. Oh, so you think you know me like that do you? Raleigh clinched her fists and swallowed hard as she watched this guy. She unclinched one of her hands long enough to take a drink of her beer and set it back down on the bar. She tried to get herself relaxed. Why was she even letting this guy get to her? He was just another drunk cowboy that was hitting on her. Raleigh had dated and been around enough of those to know the drill. But there was something about this one..he was kind of cute. But wait a second, why was Raleigh even thinking like that? He was a jerk, obviously.

• • He knew that he was really getting underneath of this girls skin.. and he loved it. He loved that it seemed as if he was the last person that she wanted to be talking to right now. He knew it was weird for him to be thinking like.. to be wanting this girl to actually dislike him. But he was a jerk.. he always had been. He loved to get a rise out of people and say things just to piss them off, it's how he was. He laughed when she spoke again, "Think I know you like what?" He lifted the beer to his lips again and finished it off, setting the empty bottle onto the bar in front of him. "I don't know you at all miss. In fact, I don't even know what your name is. I'm just trying to have a conversation with a pretty fine lady." He smirked again, gesturing for the bartender to get him another beer, noticing that the brunnette girl had just gotten a refill herself. When he got the beer, he popped the top and took a nice long drink, then setting it down once again. "Not that I'm saying I need to know your name or anything.. that's not nessacary to have a good time." He laughed again. He knew he was coming on a bit strong.. but only because he was trying to. Actually, to be quite honest, he'd love to know her name .. like he'd admit that anytime soon though.

Raleigh rolled her eyes and laughed. This guy wasn't that bad; or at least after you talked to him a bit he wasn't. She sat up straighter on her bar stool, and sipped her beer slowly. She listened to him talk, saying that it was not necessary for him to know her name for them to have a good time. She almost choked on her beer when he said that. Raleigh wasn't the kind of person to jump into things, and she didn't fool aorund with people either. But maybe she should give this guy a chance. "I you really want to know, which I don't think you do, my name is Raleigh," she offered, looking from where she had been looking at her beer bottle to him, through her lashes. Raleigh wanted him to know here name. She liked this guy, or was it just the beer getting to her? She started to stand up, and finished off the rest of her bud light as she did so. "So do you wanna dance or something?"

• • He raised his eyebrow as she laughed. Did she just have too many beers or did she actually find something he said.. funny? Normally, the girls he talked to got fed up with his cocky attitude and left.. but this one seemed like she was going to be sticking around. In all honesty, he liked that. He liked that she seemed like a girl he could actually picture himself being with.. but not like he'd admit that. When she said her name was Raleigh, he nodded. "Cody." He looked in her direction as he introduced himself quickly. Mabye he had made it seem like he didn't want to know her name.. and that he didn't want her to know hers.. but ever since he had come to sit down with her, he had been curious. And not just curious about her name, but just about her. This was different for him.. very different. He shrugged when she asked him to dance, "That wasn't exactly what I had in mind.. but sure, why not." Cody stood up just then and offered his hand out to the brunette girl who had been sitting on the stool beside him, leading her out towards to where their were others dancing.

Raleigh smiled and took Cody's hand as he led her out on the dance floor. She smiled at him, and danced close, with her arms laced loosely around his neck. She didn't know what it was about this guy, but she was just drawn to him. Raleigh swayed along slowly to the music, and laughed softly at Cody's comment. "well we have to start out somewhere, don't we?" She smiled at him, and continued dancing. Raleigh couldn't believe herself. Usually, she wasn't really like this. She normally would kind of sit in the corner and watch everything go by, unless someone asked her to dance. But she wasn't sure if it was just the beer, or if she reall liked the guy. Raleigh thought it was a combination of the two, more so the second one. She really didn't know if this cowboy just wanted to get in her pants, or if he really was interested in her either. It was hard to tell, but she hoped really bad that he liked her sincerely. But what did it matter, she had only known him for maybe 45 minutes, right?

• • He smiled and laughed as he let his hands rest low on her hips as they danced. Cody shrugged his shoulders as he spoke, "No, not really. I mean, we didn't have to start on the dance floor.. but wherever you want to start, I guess." He smirked down in her direction as they continued dancing closely. Part of him wanted to allow himself to get to know this girl better, to spend even more time with her. The other part of him was telling him to keep being a jerk, aim for the goal of just taking her home for the night and then probably never seeing her again. At least, that's what he usually did.. that's how he was usually speaking. So why was it that tonight this girl was actually causing him to think differently? "So do you always come to the bar alone to drink? I'm not so sure what that says about you." He smirked again. He couldn't make actual friendly conversation with her.. that might send her signs like he was enjoying himself.. and he didn't want her to think that.

Shivers ran up her spine as Cody moved his hands lower on her hips, but you would never know it from Raleigh's facial expression. She swayed along to the music slowly. Raleigh smiled as she listened to Cody speak. "Well no, not usually. I just felt like having a beer after a hard day's work on the ranch. How about you, do you come in here alone all the time?" Raleigh let a smirk slip on her face as she spoke. The way this guy was talking would make you think he just wanted to take her home, but the way he looked at her made her think different. Raleigh didn't know what it was, but she wanted to know more and more about this guy. She let her arms tighten around his neck a little, but not so much that she was choking him. She danced a little closer to Cody, who still had that hilarious smirk on his face."Are you from Navasota, or did you move here? Because I don't think I've ever seen you in here before.."

• • When she returned the question right back to him, he couldn't help but laugh again. "Actually, I usually do. And then I find some lucky girl to take home.." He looked down to the brunette girl and smiled, "Lucky you." He smirked again when he felt her move closer to him.. he knew that she wouldn't be able to resist him for long. It was the same smirk that hadn't seemed to have left his face ever since he started dancing or even just talking with this girl.. he was just enjoying himself by being so cocky way too much to let the smirk fall off of his features. When she asked the question if he was from Navasota he laughed once more, "Been here my whole life." He smiled as he took a pause between his words, then speaking again. "I just usually stay away from the girls I'm not interested in.. common sense right?" He shrugged. Just being completely honest. He didn't associate with the girls or people he didn't feel appeared like he'd have a good time with.. but tonight she caught his eye. Again, lucky her right?

Raleigh laughed and shook her head when Cody said she was lucky that he found her. She took at him with her gorgeous white smile as she spoke. "Well, Lucky me then." Raleigh let the smirk stay on her face as she continued to dance along with Cody. She had only known this guy for 30 minutes, but so far, this had been the best 30 minutes of her whole week. "Not interested...I'm confused.." When the song ended, she walked back to the bar, still quietly holding Cody's hand. She grabbed her beer, and took a drink, as she set down. She finished off the beer rather quickly, as she had something else on her mind at the moment. Raleigh turned to Cody, and smiled. "About taking me home...I don't exactly want to go to my house, but I know somewhere we can go." Raleigh raised her eyebrows as she spoke. She wasn't usually this spontaneous, but she liked this guy. She was secretly hoping something more than a one night stand would come out of this.

• • He laughed when he heard the words come out of her mouth. "Confused? Why are you confused?" In his opinion, there had been nothing to get confused about from his past statement. She said she'd never seen him in there before.. and he responded with the reason why - beacause he normally stayed away from the girls he wasn't interested in. Again, common sense, right? "You told me you'd never seen me in here before, correct? I told you why. Because I stay away from the ladies that I'm not interested in .. however, you got lucky night.. I guess." He shrugged his shoulders and smirked as the song ended. His eyes cast down in the direction of his hand in hers - he wasn't so fond of this. Normally, he would have dropped her hand.. but since the only way it seemed he'd be getting to take this girl home tonight was to be.. nice.. he decided he better suck it up and put on his best nice act. Cody was surprised when she spoke again.. he hadn't expected her to agree to leave this early.. easily.. or even at all, really. "I'm fine with not going to your house.. we can go to mine." He smiled, briefly looking her up and down. Tonight was looking to turn out good.

Raleigh swallowed uncomfortably as she saw Cody glance at his hand in hers. She dropped it casually, not wanting to make him feel awkward. She nodded as she stood up when he mentioned his place. Raleigh knew good and well what she was getting herself into, and the few beers she had drank didn't help either. Raleigh pulled a 10 dollar bill out of her shirt, and handed it to Roy, the bartender. She smiled gratefully and thanked him, before walking out the door to her truck. Raleigh walked along as she heard Cody's feet loudly crunch the gravel in the parking lot behind her. She walked to her truck, and unlocked it before getting in. "I'll follow you, I don't really like to leave my truck places." Raleigh pushed the key into the ignition, and brought the loud diesel truck to life. The driver's door slammed closed, which had her ranch's logo on it. She waited patiently for Cody to get in his truck, so they could leave.
